Diamonds of gem quality vary in hue from colourless to yellow.

To determine the correct colour, all submitted diamonds are compared to an internationally accepted master set of stones, the colour of which ranges from D (or colourless -the most soughtafter) to Z (the yellowest).

Other colours can occur in diamonds such as brown, orange, pink and blue etc.

The most intense of these are determined as 'fancy' colours.
